We have received numerous complaints from loyal 99.3 KRWV-LP listeners reporting specific interference on our FM frequency of 99.3 FM. The complaints subsided when the original station broadcasting on our frequency went off the air with their sports programming. After several months of the translator (low power transmitter) in a silenced mode our complaints completely subsided. In early April of 2026, phone calls, e-mails were AGAIN saying that a R N B station NOW was interfering with our FM signal here LOCALLY in the far reaches of the East Valley. It is particularly concerning when both of our coverages should not be overlapping based on OUR engineering studies and the FCC contour maps. In technical terms, we are being interfered within our 60 dbu contour.
We are now collecting LISTENER INTERFERENCE COMPLAINTS due to the Shaw Butte Translator transmitting Old School, R N B music. We are wanting 30 completed complaints for our legal council to submit to the Federal Communications Commission known as the FCC. To file an official complaint, we need the following information from you: FIRST and LAST NAME, PHYSICAL HOME or WORK ADDRESS, TYPE OF INTERFERENCE, E-MAIL ADDRESS AND PHONE NUMBER. We are requesting these INTERFERENCE REPORTS to be from our listeners in GOLD CANYON, APACHE JUNCTION and SAN TAN VALLEY ONLY as these cities are within what we call our 60 dbu contour and 45 dbu contour which represents the distance from our transmitter. To give a broader sense of the distance from Gold Canyon interference being heard and reported is approximately 6 miles outside of Gold Canyon. Interference within this range will be considered unusual interference to OUR FM audio signal. When indicating the TYPE of interference please indicate the TYPE of programming ie. R N B Music as an example. SEND INTERFERENCE COMPLAINTS TO: info@krwv.org In the SBJECT LINE TYPE: INTERFERENCE. We appreciate your assistance in this matter and we hope for a resolution once we present your information to the FCC. in Washington DC.
